Meet Me
I often get asked what I do for a crust... a  living... It's one of the most asked questions I get lately...
Cake Decorator? Cake Artist? ...Slave to the Sugar?... Unicorn Confetti Creator?
Most of the time I answer with just a kitchen hand in a kitchen if I don't want to deal with all the curious questions that come after... Sometimes answering with "oh just a baker" leaves people with the assumption that I create for a large corporate company making thousands of cheap mud cakes that can last on the shop shelf for 18 months, cost sweet nothing, full of numbers and is taken to every function...

My name is Kaylee, I have been working with cake since the age of 15... I am now 31... I have devoted over half my life to this small world of cake...
Since the age of 7, I discovered adventurous times in the kitchen with flour, sugar, eggs, butter and a small hand held cake mixer. Created my first ever paid wedding cake at the age of 15, I continued my journey, learning and experiencing life in the commercial kitchen with some talented Swiss pastry chefs, perfecting my art and skills in sugar.
The glitter has faded and the sparkle has gone to a light glow and it’s now time to change direction, set myself some new goals to achieve... I have achieved everything that I set out to achieve PLUS SO MUCH MORE, more than I thought was even possible.

My cake adventure has been one interesting one... I have had many highs... a few lows along with twists, turns, 360's... laughs, friendships, tears and stressed out to the max of illness, love, travel, learning... oh the learning... but all that I wouldn't change for anything. I loved every second (some points maybe not at the current time) but as I've been reflecting on my cake past... I can sit here now and go F@&K YEAH! what a ride!
The ride is now finished, and I am off... I QUIT... I am outta here... Au Revoir...
...well not completely... I am not good at disappearing completely... I feel I still have some things to GIVE...
What does that mean?
Delicate-Lee will no longer be taking cake orders...
Delicate-Lee's kitchen to the public is closed (it has been closed now since February 2016, but I needed to make sure I was 110% happy about this and I am).
To my beautiful amazing wonderful lovers of Delicate-Lee clients... Thank you ...Without you... every single one of you... I wouldn't be or experienced anything I have if it wasn't for you.
You believed in me and my talents, you trusted me with baking and creating for your occasions big and small, you supported me and my dream, you helped pay my bills and helped me show the negatives non Delicate-Lee believers that anything is possible. I have truly enjoyed creating for you, your family and friends. I am forever grateful for your love, support, referrals and cake love over the years. It's a little strange to think that my creations are in photos of thousands of photo albums that get looked back on for many years to come {see my cake art does live after it's been demolished}.

I will now be teaching and sharing my cake knowledge here in Perth, Interstate and Overseas... Join me in my next chapter...
